Periyar Tiger Trail – 2 Nights / 3 Days Camping & Trekking Adventure
Discover the thrill of exploring the wilderness with the Periyar Tiger Trail, an exciting guided camping and trekking program in Periyar Tiger Reserve, Thekkady, Kerala. This unique adventure offers nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts an opportunity to experience the beauty of dense forests, scenic trails, and rich biodiversity.
The program is led by a dedicated team of experienced forest guides who possess an intimate knowledge of the forest and its wildlife. Some guides were formerly involved in poaching but have transformed their lives to become protectors of the forest, contributing to the conservation of Periyar Tiger Reserve.
Visitors can enjoy an adventurous journey through the forest while learning about wildlife, nature, and forest conservation. The experience combines trekking, camping, and the excitement of discovering the natural environment under the guidance of trained personnel.

Day 1 Arrival and Forest Trekking
Arrive at the designated Periyar Tiger Reserve entry point and complete registration and formalities. Meet the experienced forest guides and forest official for a briefing on safety, forest rules and the trekking program. Begin the guided trek through the forest, exploring its natural surroundings and learning about wildlife and biodiversity. Enjoy breaks during the trek as instructed by the guides. Reach the designated camping area and settle in for the night. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the authorised forest campsite. -

Day 2 Deep Forest Exploration and Camping
Wake up early and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the forest. Have breakfast at the designated campsite. Continue guided trekking and explore the forest trails under the supervision of the guide team. Learn about forest conservation, animal habitats and the role of forest protection teams. Take rest and meal breaks according to the program arrangements. Return to the designated campsite for dinner and the second night in the forest. -

Day 3 Final Trek and Departure
Wake up early and prepare for the final trekking session. Enjoy the last stretch of forest exploration with the guide team. Return to the designated exit point following the authorised route. Complete the exit formalities and conclude the Periyar Tiger Trail experience.

Not included / please note
- Do not light fires, or smoke inside protected areas. Accidental forest fires cause irreparable damage.
- Carrying guns, fire arms, inflammable materials are strictly prohibited, as per the provisions of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, and is punishable by law.
- Do not talk loudly or play loud music.
- Do not get out of the vehicle or approach wild animals.
- Do not approach animals closer than 15 m or disturb them while they are resting.
- Do not take away flora and fauna in the form of cuttings, seeds or roots.
- Do not feed wild animals.
- Do not stop the vehicle not more than 5 minutes in the reserve
